TI:ME Certification Courses for 2010

TI:ME Courses will be available this Summer at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

TI:ME 1A: Notation, Instruments, Sequencing will be offered from May 31 – June 4, 2010.

TI:ME 1B: Instructional Software, Multimedia will be offered from June 7 – Jun 11, 2010.

The cost will be $395 per week.

AMEA Conference 2010
The TI:ME Chapter of Alabama was well represented at the Alabama Music Educators’ Association Conference in Tuscaloosa, AL on Jan. 21-22, 2010. Technology sessions were presented by Jody Underwood of ‘SoundTree’ and Larry Marchese of ‘Make Music.’ Scott Phillips facilitated the sessions and worked in the TI:ME exhibit booth. Thank you to all of the music teachers who attended the sessions!

The UAB Music Tech Academy was held on November 14, 2009
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Music Tech Academy hosted a special conference on November 14, 2009 at the UAB Hulsey Music Center from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The Conference included a Music Tech Academy for High School Students and the Alabama TI:ME Chapter Fall Conference for Music Educators.The special guest speaker was James Frankel, Managing Director of SoundTree. Other speakers included Henry Panion, Scott Phillips and Karen Garrett.

Music Educators received hands-on instruction using Sibelius, Groovy Music, Podcasting, Web Design and other programs.

Students watched a live recording session in progress in UAB’s own studio with award-winning engineer James Bevelle. The students also learned about Pro Tools, Audacity, Reason, Garage Band and Sibelius.

The cost of the conference was $25 ($20 for TI:ME Members) and included lunch and a T-shirt. Door prizes were also awarded. The link to the UAB Music Tech Academy registration page is here:  2009 Registration Page
