At UTSA, Dr. Sebald teaches courses in computer applications in music and multimedia development and serves as technology advisor to the music division and the IMR. As web master for the music division he controls a powerful vehicle for exploring cutting edge technologies in distance education. Many of his recent multimedia tutorials, online tests, and other forms of web based student-teacher interaction can be seen at http://music.utsa.edu/technology. In 1992 Dr. Sebald initiated the Technological Directions in Music Learning Conference, an international event sponsored by the IMR and held each January in San Antonio. (http://imr.utsa.edu/conf.htm) As an outgrowth of this conference he initiated in summer, 2000, the TDML ejournal, an online forum for sharing new concepts in the application of technology to music education at all levels. (http://music.utsa.edu/tdml In addition to the above activities, Dr. Sebald directs a multimedia consulting/production company, Advanced Instructional Media (http://www.aim-ed.com), which over the past decade has created numerous educational products including nationally distributed instructional videos and CD-ROMs and instructional web sites. |
