TI:ME Keynote Speaker Announced for National Conference

TI:ME is delighted to announce that Jay Smith, founder and CEO of Livid Instruments, an Austin based manufacturer of innovative instruments for electronic music will be our Keynote Speaker discussing "New Technology Directions in Music Performance" during our National Conference held in conjunction with TMEA.

Smith will discuss the rapid advancement of performing and composing with MIDI controllers, iPad, tablets, software, laptops and more. Smith will examine the evolution of electronic music from early synthesis to modern DJing, and how it is changing contemporary music and performance. He will also discuss the growing DIY (do it yourself) controllerism movement, from academia to commercial application.

In addition to analyzing the history and development of music technology, Smith will demonstrate real world implementation with hardware and software. Demonstration will include hardware like the OhmRGB, Native Instruments Maschine, Ableton Live, Max/MSP, Traktor DJ studio and more.
