What's New at TI:ME

by George Pinchock

TI:ME continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Technology Strategies for Music Education is now available directly from TI:ME and from a number of resellers across the country. The Strategies manual contains over 200 examples of how to incorporate technology into the music curriculum.

The Technology Certification Program gets underway this summer at ten colleges and universities across the nation. Two courses are being offered which will lead to Level One Certification:

It is recommended that Course 1A be taken first. See the list of schools for dates and information.

Our premier Membership Campaign is underway and will continue throughout the year. Our goal is to reach as many music educators as we can. Perhaps you know of someone who could benefit from being a member. Please let us know at TimeMusEd@ti-me.org and we will contact them. Also, be sure to visit the TI:ME web site at www.ti-me.org. We are updating the site weekly and have included new links, articles and resources.

The future holds great promise for TI:ME. Continued growth will be our theme. You can expect to see the Level 2 Certification program launched in the summer of 1999 along with supporting courses. This will allow those holding Level One Certification to continue down the technology path. A national technology conference to be held in 1999 will be a major focus. Educators, institutions of higher learning, and the music industry will gather to learn and explore the limitless potentials of technology. Plans on this landmark event will be announced in the summer of 1998.
