Technology Strategies for Music Education

SECTION 5: INFORMATION PROCESSING, COMPUTER SYSTEMS, AND LAB MANAGEMENT.

This section is divided into three parts which support the accomplishment of the MENC standards through technology. INFORMATION PROCESSING identifies skills leading teachers to greater efficiency with paperwork, planning, and related tasks. COMPUTER SYSTEMS identifies skills required for the set-up, installation, and maintenance of software and hardware. LAB MANAGEMENT covers issues specifically related to computer labs and electronic instruments. These skills are useful to those who teach all ages and levels. Not all of these ideas, however, will be appropriate for every teacher. Teachers will apply the concepts which most address their individual needs.

The remainder of section 5 containing the sections listed below, can be found in the printed version of the standards.
