Conference Information:

The Technology Institute for Music Educators (TI:ME) held its Fourth National Music Technology Conference, in collaboration with The California Association for Music Education (CMEA) 2003 State Conference, March 12 - 15, 2003 Pasadena, California.

Being technology literate compares to being an artist who chooses from an ever-increasing selection of colors to convey his or her perception of what information is most demanding. To be technology literate is to be encumbered by the knowledge of obsolescence, overwhelmed by the dynamics of the present, but yet infatuated by the potential of the technology of the future. Being technology literate is to be on a slippery slope. To be technology literate is to be able to communicate to all in a language whose vocabulary appears to the infrequent user to have no basis in history and whose grammar defies explanation. [Dr. Harvey Long, Technology in Education Consultant (retired), T.H.E. Journal, Vol.27, No.3, 1999.]

TI:ME brought together the nation's leading music technology educators with leading music technology hardware and software providers to present one of the nation's most comprehensive and diversified music technology conferences.

TI:ME is dedicated to teaching current and future music educators how to easily incorporate music technology into the existing music curriculum and how to plan for more productive and fulfilling future curricula. Topics include all types of software (notation, sequencing, multimedia, CAI, administrative and productivity), electronic instruments and technology performance ensembles, music labs, and web resources. Hands-on experiences are emphasized, along with live performances, lectures, demonstrations, and research reports.

This was the music technology conference to NOT miss. It's the perfect way for you to network with today's leading music technology mentors.

TI:ME -- working "around the clock" for YOU!
